Regardless of what genre you enjoy reading, Last Chance for Love is one not to be missed. I’m not the typical western romance reader. In fact, up to a couple years ago I just didn’t read them. In recent years, I have come to appreciate and enjoy them and this book has gone to the top of my list of favorites.
Ms. Hampton crafted wonderful characters in this tale. I didn’t rush through the book and I’m glad I didn’t. It allowed me the time to really get to know these characters and savor their uniqueness. They won’t be soon forgotten. McKenzie’s feisty western temperament was perfectly enacted but not overdone. She is still very much soft and female. Wade Forbes is definitely a hero to fall in love with. He has his Alpha tendencies as a hardened gunfighter should, but he has a quiet strength about him as well. He doesn’t always say what’s on his mind-not until he needs to.
Secondaries can pose problems for authors whether they are just mundane and tedious or so interesting they steal the show. The other characters in this book added just what was necessary to the story without being over the top. From the loyal cowhands to the sultry Consuela and on to the baddie of the story, these secondary characters satisfied their roles and added the necessary flavor to make this a complete and fulfilling tale.
Last Chance for Love is an endearing story worth reading more than once. It is well-plotted and written in interesting language. I loved that it is listed as a sweet romance, yet there is enough sexual tension to keep you turning the pages to see how these two get together in the end. It’s a story of learning to trust and learning to love. I applaud Ms. Hampton and look forward to reading more from her in the future.

COFFEE TIME ROMANCE gives Last Chance for Love: 4 cups Last Chance for Love is a wonderful read. The description of the land, to the characters, all the way to the food cooking, can be experienced by the reader. I love the romantic chemistry that shines in this story. The dialogue really delivers. The story is beautifully written with a strong plot and all the makings of a great book. The absolute longing Leah feels for Wade dances in the pages. The secondary characters help round out the storyline. I was completely captivated by the romantic story that Sandi Hampton pens. From the holstering of the guns, to the showdown, the west comes alive in this thrilling tale.

THE ROMANCE STUDIO has rated Last Chance for Love five hearts: McKenzie, the only name she went by, lived with her father and two ranch helpers at the Bar K Ranch in West Texas. Since they had moved there, troubles abounded. So much had happened they were about to lose their home. All their ranch hands had left them, all of their cattle had been rustled, and her father’s horse had been shot out from under him leaving him in a wheelchair. McKenzie’s mother had run off years ago after choosing another man over McKenzie’s father. She felt that she had to take responsibility for all the work around the place even though her father’s mind was good. Her father wanted her to marry—she had no desires in that direction. She had never met anyone who attracted her attention until she met a gunslinger named Wade Forbes. He was in the area visiting an old Army buddy, Mike Webber, who owned a nearby ranch. No one was bothering his stock. Ms. Sandi Hampton has done a great job with the plot of this story. Her storyline is different from anything I’ve read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Her characters had some problems which caused enough suspense to keep the book interesting. Her characters were so believable that even the bad ones were interesting. The book moved swiftly and was exciting to read. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a historical romance. Overall rating: Reviewer: Brenda Talley

LONG AND SHORT REVIEWS rated “Samantha’s Sacrifice” 4.5 Books:
It’s been a long time since I’ve enjoyed a good western romance novel. Oftentimes, the heat is present but the realism of the era is absent. It’s not enough to be told the elements exist. I want to be transported back, to experience the journey firsthand. Take me to a time when the land was untamed and roads were paved by the wheels of wagon trains. I want to lose myself in the pages, to be a part of a past that is so incredibly fascinating yet so often forgotten. Author Sandi Hampton’s incredible offering, Samantha’s Sacrifice, is exactly the brand of story-telling I’m talking about.
The tension between Samantha and Blake is presented right from the start. It’s apparent they are attracted to one another, but upon the realization, they each try to deny what they desire most. Unlike other stories in which you become distracted or agitated by the rift, you’ll ache instead for the losses that have left them scarred and unable to trust. It’s heartbreaking at times, but heartwarming at others. As the old adage goes, there can be no joy without sorrow. Ms. Hampton should be given full praise for her ability to present a hero that you want to dislike, but can never fully seem to. Blake’s actions are what drive Samantha away time and again, but even as he lashes out, you realize it’s a self defense mechanism, ensuring that he doesn’t allow her to find a place in his heart. Orf course, a hero is only as good as his heroine. Samantha is a woman that is everything women of that time had to be—strong, proud, and courageous. Of course, there are plot twists and colorful secondary characters that ensure you won’t want to stop reading. I sat down to read this story when I woke up this morning and didn’t stop until I finished. Yes, folks, it’s that good.
Samantha’s Sacrifice is a beautifully written romance that everyone will enjoy. Be sure to place this one on your TBR list.

THE ROMANCE STUDIO has rated “Samantha’s Sacrifice” five hearts.
The plot was well developed, the sensuality was dynamic, and the emotional baggage each carried around made this a great book. The ending was definitely a shock to me. I could not put the book down. It was so good. Ms. Hampton did a great job of well developing all the areas that make a best seller.
Overall this was a fabulous book. The pace was great, the characters wonderful, the suspenseful, shocking ending was the perfect conclusion . I look forward to reading more from this author. I wholeheartedly recommend this book.

NIGHT OWL REVIEWS has rated “Samantha’s Sacrifice” five stars:
Samantha Adams and her little girl are adorable in this sweet romance read. Little Annie will capture your heart right from the beginning. Samantha is a woman who is not easily defeated and definitely is a great match for Blake McCarthy. Here is a man who is not easily swayed when it comes to a beautiful woman, even one like Samantha. Together these two are great in every chapter. You can see a hero in Blake because when he loves someone it is forever. Kudos to Sandi Hampton for a wonderful read. I can’t wait for more from this talented author.

SERIOUSLY REVIEWED rated “When You Least Expect It” 8.5 on story and 9 on presentation:
Have you ever picked up a book and for whatever reason it just worked for you? Whether it was the characters, the plot, the writing or maybe just a combination of all the above? This was one of those for me.
I love historical. They are what I cut my teeth on in the romance world and they are still among my favorites. The wild west, rugged lawmen and heroines who are strong and sexy. Ms. Hampton pulled all these elements together in this wonderful tale and left me with a smile on my face and a good feeling in my heart.
Great job, Ms. Hampton. I will be looking for your name in the future.
